Tackle warehouse has been my go to store. Can I ask why you don’t like Cabelas anymore?

Living in TN, I am able to get to Bass Pro easily. It is geared toward the southern fishery in this area.
I really enjoyed Cabela's because, to me, it had a more "northern" feel and the quality of their merchandise was better. Since the merger, I sense Cabela's has become an extension of BP and has lost that "feel" and the quality seems to have dropped a bit. Or maybe it's not different from my usual anymore.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

If you think Cabelas fishing products went down hill that's nothing compared to their hunting clothes lineup!!

A lot of folks in the upper midwest are starting to feel that way about Cabela's as well. I've also heard some not so great things about the quality of their store brand stuff since the merger. There was a time when Cabela's house brand was some pretty quality gear.
On the North/South thing -- I've grown to like Sportsman's Warehouse which is out of Utah. They have a retail location in the north suburbs of the twin cities. If you're a lake trout guy especially I feel their selection is better than anyone of the other big box stores.

Since the merger I've been spending more time at Sportsmen Warehouse and Scheels here in Iowa. I used to live out west and went to Sportsmen Warehouse and Cabelas about equally. Tragic about Cabelas. They did have quality store brand products and great customer service/warranty. Not so much with Bass Pro.

Always liked them for their fishing tackle. Than they closed their St. Cloud store.

Since Cabela's was bought out by Bass Pro, I haven't really been satisfied with ordering from them.
What is a good site for reasonably priced, good quality and selection fishing gear, line, lures, jigs, etc...?

Outlet Bait and Tackle has some crazy good deals sometimes. Not always, or usually, but sometimes.
Otherwise, FishUSA is pretty good, especially if you wait for a sale. They have many 50% off and buy one-get one sales.
Tackle Warehouse is also solid. Their holiday sales are crazy good, too.

Tackle Warehouse is great. They have a very wide selection, but they don't have everything. I had to go to Cabela's to get a short (6ft) casting rod from St. Croix. There are also some more northern fishing lures or accessories (like trolling weights) that they don't carry. Still, I've spent more money than I should have with them over the past year. It's hard not to. Just ordered a newly released rod, couldn't help myself. But yeah, TW is great. It is a high volume store so things like fishing line are guaranteed to be fresh. You don't want mono or fluoro that's been sitting around for years. Not that that's likely to be an issue with Cabela's or any other big store, but, it's a given with TW.
