Group pushed to Lady Boot Bay from EP16 in one day so we would have a great shot at lakers, but in 3 days, no lakers... so instead of Iron we decided to hit Gebe for 1 night and Oyster for 2 nights. Managed to pull out a 28 incher followed by a 25 incher with a cloudy morning that turned into a sunny afternoon. 3/8oz chartreuse jig with a white twister tail bounced off the bottom in 25-30ft water. Both put up a great fight with a couple drag screams. They were delicious. At dusk I also caught a 25 incher from shore on, believe it or not, a 3/8oz white/chartreuse spinnerbait, in probably 20ft water. Straight up choked it too. Must have been a hungry fish to come up to 2ft depth for a spinnerbait!
Might have to head back there some time. Beautiful lake (as was Gebe).

Here's a close-up of the 28 incher. Beautiful fish, full of eggs. Probably around 6lbs?

Really nice fish. Looks like pure muscle.

Eggs start developing just a few months after spawn. Eyes will have eggs starting in Sept.

Great fish. I’m surprised they were so shallow. I’ll be there in a few weeks, care to share location where you caught them?

When were you on Oyster? We were just there from 6/7-6/9. We had one nice laker up to the boat but the wind kept us from being able to fish much.

Stayed there 6/5 and 6/6, left 6/7 for Agnes so we could exit EP16 on 6/8. Just missed ya!
