QueticoMike: "I used to use Shimano all of the time but in the past few years I have switched to Quantum and Pflueger." I was also thinking of switching to Pflueger or Okuma . It seems some of Shimano’s reels have definitely gone downhill the last few years, but seems like the Stradic is still a well made dependable reel. If they weren’t on sale, I doubt if I would of pulled the trigger....

Woah that is expensive. I think mine cost 20 dollars at most lol. Always wondered how different a nice one would cost.

I agree the Nasci is pretty nice, but I bought a couple last year, and had trouble with the bail on one of them. I’m sure it was a isolated incident....

Love Shimano stuff, been fishing with a Spirex since they came out, bullet proof. The Stradic are an amazing reel, just wish they had rear drag model.

I've started using the Shimano Nasci reels in 2500 and 3000. I absolutely love these things. They've got 20lbs of drag and are relatively fast for spinning reels. Smooth as butter and really solid!
