We are going into Disappointment the 2nd week of September, wanting to catch some fish, plan on doing some fishing on Ima as well, anybody have any tips on bait to use for Walleyes, Smallmouth and Lake trout for that time of year, depths to fish or any hot spots you may know of! Planning on bringing in some soft baits like crayfish to use for the smallmouth and maybe some soft bait minnows for the walleye, not sure what to use for the Lake Trout on Ima tho!! Thanks for the help!!

Our party caught the majority of lake trout using tail dancers, trolling at 1.5 mph., & letting out 100' of 8 lb. test.
Notice I said our party, I caught nothing!
As far as walleye and northern we caught very few on Ima, But the ones we caught were nice sized.
I've been on Disappointment a few times and almost everything was caught on a leach rig of some kind.

If you are staying on Disappointment, you might want to check out Parent lake next door. I have never fished it, but I saw some pics from a DNR study, sampling, can't think of the name right now, and there are some big walleyes in there. And since it is a dead end lake and not necessary to travel through to get to Dis. I don't think it gets fished too often, if at all in a years time. Just a suggestion. I was only in the area twice. I saw the pics at the lodge of the resort called Wilderness Bay on Snowbank. This was a ways back, but I can't imagine much has changed. It's worth a try. I remember the water on Ima being stained yellow. Never saw that before or since. Good luck. Have fun.
