Boundary Waters or Quetico? If you're talking BW, you won't find lakers in that lake...

QueticoMike: "I have tried to fish lower Agnes on a few occasions and that area never produced for us. The further you move up the lake the better. The upper part has been the most productive. If you are going to fish Agnes try to fish as north as possible."
My observations as well.
Under Louisa falls could be good at night but I've never done well during the day (too shallow).

Wow, I was going from a friend on Agnes, who said Agnes was the deepest.
One year in the spring we portaged across Sunday lake than Meadow. Only to get to Agnes and it was still frozen over.

I see Stumpy from this Board forum once said he knew Agnes was at least 400 feet deep. Others said they found at least 350feet."

I don't doubt it
There are some pretty high, steep cliffs on that east side.

I heard the same thing that it 400 feet or more. I have never did any readings on the lake but I wouldn't be surprised if it was that deep. I know that water is cold on the south end.

Agnes is our June 10th entry point also. You headed in with another BS troop?

I am not a where to go person for fishing. But that said, lower Agnes is much poorer lake trout fishing than the north half.
A side note-I think the deepest water in all of Quetico is in south Agnes.

Can anyone give me some recent fishing reports from Agnes Lake, particularly the south end? I was there last year with Boy Scout group, fished a little with no luck. Really want to catch Pike and lake trout. Thanks in advance for replies
