Your Goodyear charger is fine. The charger senses battery charge state. It will adjust charge rate depending on how discharged the battery is and will taper off and stop charging when the battery is full.

I bought a Duracell battery. 12 volt 7ah battery. Gonna charge it with a Goodyear 12 volt 2 amp output charger/ maintainer. Is to big of a charge. Me and electricity don't get along... I have a maintainer that only puts out 500 ma..
Please make it a simple answer.
