Haven't put the BW box together yet. Our trip is scheduled for 5/23 so waiting on word from Walz (would be too sad to take everything out of it without using.) Mine will look pretty similar though without the more bass specific items. Walleye focus on this trip.
What are the little items that say 'water wick' on them? I assume they remove moisture from the box, but I googled and can't find any. Do they seem to work well?

Spring and Fall
I just restock lost items after every trip and it gets stored with the rest of my canoe camping gear

Decided to break out my BWCA/Quetico box for a pic. Doing so I realized how heavy it is. Going to be bringing a fish finder this year so I'll be looking to lighten the tackle box a bit.

Yes I have been thinking about crushing a lot of my barbs down. They are so annoying to deal with. Trebles also very annoying but I like spoons and rapalas....so I need them I think."
There are some alternatives, but not all agree.

Yep, it's firm closed cell foam with an adhesive back and slits running lengthwise down it. Got the idea from dedicated jig/hook boxes like this one from Gamakatsu but I didn't want an entirely separate box.

All good options so far. I like the cranks, jigs, plastics, etc. Top water baits. Mine is very similar to last year's thread....but since our trip isn't until Aug/Sept it'll be a while before I make any tackle choices.

Most of my trips are in the spring time as the Walleye fishing is glorious. I have almost primarily used a slip bobber set-up for most of my fishing as of recently. There are so many benefits with this set-up. Less snags, easy to adjust target water column, caters to a variety of species, less dangerous in the boat, easier for more novice fishermen, and fairly inexpensive. I do bring a variety of lures, but slip bobbers have been what has proven to be the most successful for my fishing style.
Spring time I typically use leeches with my slip bobber set-up as the weather can fluctuate, making keeping minnows alive a real challenge. I use a #2 or #4 red off-camber hook with about 8lb test line. Leeches are hardy little creatures and survive really well in a dedicated leech Nalgene. Just be sure to replace the water in said Nalgene multiple times a day and keep it out of the sun. I can keep leeches alive in this way for over 14 days with very little problems.

For many of you, (including me), there is one item in this box not to be forgotten...
The readers. An extra pair is a good idea. sometimes I'll wear two pair at once, and double up the magnification, so I can see the sliver, or thread the hook in low light.

I could only find them on this specific series of Plano box so it must be fairly new. I haven't put it through enough of a test yet to know how effective it actually is but the boxes are a definite improvement over the old broken ones they replaced.

Pretty much the same every year. The top box only comes along if we are on Lake Trout lakes. Soft plastics and bobber gear not pictured.

I won’t get into details because it’s pretty similar to everyone but I’ll share that a NEW item for me this year is the Rapala Shad Dancer. This is a cross between and tail dancer and a shad rap with a nice fat body and tight wobble. High hopes for this one!
another option I’m looking into is Brads Superbait for Lakers. This is a popular bait for salmon and trout out west but not so much here. I’ve talked with a couple guys that swear by them for trolling lakers on superior. That stinky oily greasy goodness is like candy for trout and salmon.
