In the passed I’ve ordered in bulk from a commercial guy in Minnesota. Had them shipped to Wisconsin and everything was great. My son pointed out to me you can’t take bait across state lines per the regulations. So I called and the DNR confirmed. Any suggestions? It might be late Sunday night when I get to Duluth and don’t really want to miss bait shops.

You can get them at the Holiday gas station in Tofte going east, or north of Duluth on 53.

I already did. We're good-to-go.

At this juncture - where might be some outlets for leeches between Wisconsin and Sawbill? I appreciate your informational help.

I bought leeches in early September last year at the Holiday in Tofte. They were not selling by the pound but I had more than enough for my trip.

Thank you. That's not toward the Sawbill campground but I get it.

Good, on our trip we were getting a little worried. It was getting later in the day, the towns kept getting smaller. And our plan was to enter the park at sunrise the next day so no chance to get them in the morning. Thank goodness for good bait sold at gas stations up there!

Yep, a couple years ago at this time my wife and I were headed up to Sawbill/Kawishiwi area. We didn't get them anywhere in duluth and it was getting later in the afternoon on Saturday. I was getting worried any bait shops would be closed along the north shore after 1 or 2 probably. Turns out......a lot of the Holiday gas stations had a good supply. We got ours in Two Harbors but it sounds like a lot of them carry them in that area. (including the one in Tofte?) I'd just call ahead to make sure you've got an option or two that's still stocked the day you're heading up.
