I've heard tell that Crooked has a bunch of Crappie in it. Anyone know this to be true? We're heading out on the 28th and should be on Crooked on the 30th, after site seeing around BW Falls area for a day. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm taking the wife who hasn't been to the BW before and doesn't fish a lot. I'd love to be able to get her on a haul of crappie, or anything else else to be honest.

I've caught a few crappie off the island on the north end of Friday bay w/ the campsite on it. That was in August though so who knows this time of year. It's a big lake so.....start exploring

That's actually the campsite I'm hoping to get when we make it to crooked. Thanks for the info

Take some time to fish the falls/current areas while you're on the river portion. Those parts can be some really good fishing too for anything

There are crappie, and some nice ones, but I have never found them in large numbers.

There are crappies in it... but I haven't had luck finding a school of them. Good luck

We found walleye, pike, SMB, and rock bass, but no crappie on an early June trip. But I also don’t remember fishing in a way that should have enticed a crappie.

I've caught crappie in Saturday Bay in the pinch just before you go into the last bay in the back northeast portion of Saturday. Caught them on white grubs while fishing for walleye.
