Routine maintenance and they're pretty good. We've got an early 2000's 60HP and it's been reliable.

If its an EFI you can get a computer read out. Some people attach an external meter also.

I'm looking at a new-to-me boat and it's got a 2011 Mercury 25hp four-stroke with the EFI. Anyone have any experience with these motors. Our current motor is a 1989 two-stroke 6hp Yamaha. Been very reliable for us. Have never had a four-stroke. Thanks for any ideas!

If taken care of they are very good motors. How many hours? Do you have oil change and/or service records?

I have one and have had good luck with it. If I recall correctly it is a 2007. Started on the third pull for the first start of this season. Runs quietly and cleanly. It pushes our 16 ft Lund SSV along at about 20 mph according to the fish finder.

Good to know, thanks!
