If you can't find a spot on Disappointment Lake, Ahsub has a nice cliff campsite just around corner from the portage, it's just a quick trip back to Disappointment for fishing!

Plan is to base on Disappointment and fish for smallmouth. We are entering from Snowbank on 9/9. With this year’s crowds we are a little worried lake might be full. Any thoughts on what direction we should head for smallie fishing in worst case scenario?
Thanks for any help

If you were to enter today I would be worried about a campsite on that lake. By September 9th you will be fine. If they are full you can head north and after a few small portages end up on Ashigan. Some nice fishing on that lake. You could also head back to Snowbank and paddle north to Boot. Boot has some nice Smallie fishing. In the unlikely event Boot is full head north again to Ensign. Tons of campsites on Ensign and amazing smallie fishing on that lake. No way Ensign will be full on September 9th.
Long story short you should be fine getting a site on Disappointment. The crowds leave when schools starts at the end of August.

There are a lot of variables to consider in your question, but I'd speculate no more than 3 hours.

Thanks Wolf24 and Oldtripper. I’m hoping we have no problems finding a good site on Disappointment but wanted a general idea of travel time up to Ashigan or Ensign .

Thanks for your thoughts. My trip partners are in agreement with you that we will be fine. My wife told me this morning I worry to much about everything. I told her that I just like to be prepared for everything. Lol
Thanks again!
