I used to anchor my 14' aluminum boat on the Mississippi with two anchors a little ways offshore in the shallows and simply wade out to it. Once, at Stockholm, WI, there was a storm that destroyed a dock and tossed big boats onto the shore and my boat bobbed its way through that storm, remaining the only thing floating the next morning.

I’m going to assume you have an aluminum boat. The times I’ve done this we just pull the aluminum boat up as far as we can and tie off the boat to a tree. You can also toss out the anchor. Be sure to bring a bailer and a huge sponge.

Frog Bay Basswood Lake 2010. Anchor the back as was mentioned.

That's what I was thinking...although wading out in September is probably not an option.

I was hoping I could throw an anchor off the back with rope that's stretchy enough where it would sit a couple feet offshore and I could still pull it on.

Was also thinking about pulling it up on some logs on shore if it was required.

My main concern is wind. With an aluminum boat I obviously don't want it getting pounded onto the rocks for any length of time.
