Heading up the Gunflint to Hungry Jack lake on Thursday and staying at the HJ Outfitters. Anyone been up this late in the year and have any suggestions for fishing? I've heard about the big bar on the west end of the lake and I'm sure that will be a spot to pick on but have noticed several other smaller ones that top out at 15-20 with close access to deeper water. Will likely be checking those out with jigs and minnows. Any other suggestions?

Fished Friday 10/2. Lake did not appear to have turned yet but the air temps did not get out of the 30’s. Did not catch a single fish all day. Nothing up shallow, did mark some but no bites at all. Lake probably needs to turn and temps need to stabilize before this lake turns on.
