How are the LT numbers in this lake right now? I see the DNR has had a pretty robust stocking program in there the last several years. Thinking of a Fall 2021 trip.

Numbers are still low, but there are some big fish in there. It is definitely on the rebound. I have been to Trout three times in the last two years for a total of 6 days and only caught two trout. Average size was great, with one going roughly 24 and the other 26, but it has continued to stump me. I did do a solo trip there in late August looking for lakers and caught two very nice walleyes (19" and 24") trolling deep tail dancers.
For some reason, the stocked fish aren't surviving at the numbers the DNR had hoped, but in the last 5-10 years naturally reproducing trout have been making a slow comeback. I am hoping we are another 4-5 years away from it being a good trout fishery again.
