Which bays did you fish?

Maybe I've missed it but haven't seen much. Any fishing reports from this past season? Seems to me this is a highly rated lake that doesn't get much 'chatter' on this site. Thinking about it for next year.
Ditto for Crooked Lake.

Our group day-tripped from Stuart to Iron in early June. It was phenomenal. Really fun and we saw no one else there all day. Great fishing, solitude....I think that end of Iron is really hard to access. Made me wish we had pushed on to Iron and stayed there, but that's a haul when you start at Stuart (which was packed with people).

We stayed on Iron in late July. The fishing was amazing and we only saw two canoes from our camp spot in three days.

We camped on Iron for five nights in mid-September, fishing was good but we found Crooked to be better. We still found plenty of fish in Iron, but with the water level and the time of year we just had to work a little harder to find them.
Here is a pike I caught in Crooked during our trip this year.

Made it up to Iron in Early May this year for a day trip. Only had two hours to fish and we caught 4 walleyes and a 20" smallmouth. I did however spend a few days on Crooked and hammered the walleyes, here's my trip report:

We didn't find the bays to be very effective for the big fish. We pretty much only caught smallmouth in the bays in July.
All big fish and numbers were caught on mid lake reefs and drop offs in about 16-25 ft of water.

We went up in early June and explored Peterson Bay for quite a while one day. It sure does hold the smallies, at least early in the season.
After that, we explored some of the main lake and found walleyes as described by others.

We went in late May and caught a lot of smaller walleyes (14-17") in shallower water (12-14') on Wednesday Bay, then moved on to Friday/Saturday/Sunday and caught fewer walleyes, but much better size (17-23"). The walleys in Friday/Saturday/Sunday were deeper and more scattered. We were more effective in finding them trolling medium/deep diving crankbaits along shorelines, mid lake reefs and rock piles. I would assume when the water warms up in June/July/August most of the walleyes will move out of Wednesday and into the main body of Crooked where they will be found until the water cools again.

did a 2018 trip to Iron in mid August, brother got a large pike in Peterson Bay, but we were surprised to see a guy pulling fish, including Walleye, out of the eddies on Curtain Falls. He said he lost a lot of tackle in the rocks but the fishing was worth it.
