Hi friends,

I might be heading to the Isabella area this weekend to ice fish for trout- yep, tis trout opener weekend but I have never been around this area for opener. I have heard Divide, Hogback, and Echo are the most popular. Does anyone know what lake we would have the best chance on? I know we can't use live bait on those lakes but any advice on how to catch them on those lakes? Bait/tackle/depths/locations? Tip-ups vs jigging? Should we expect enough eaters? Thanks!

Bright colored (pink, orange, chartreuse) jigging spoons tipped with euro larvae. Drill holes along shoreline (5 to 10 ft depths). Trout can be anywhere, but typically just below the ice.
