That is exactly what I saw when I was on Seagull last weekend...

We did have decent luck a sunset for walleye near the Alpine inflow. One night we caught 3 nice ones. Two were prespawn males. We also caught 3 big suckers. I assumed that the suckers were there because the spawn was over...

Anyone have a sense where we are in the Spawn?
Also looking at Curtain falls for a day trip..
Thanks,
Joel"

On Gaskin at EP47, May 17, we caught 4 big female smallies literally dripping eggs. From then on, we only caught small males. I assume the spawn was happening then.

Walleyes...caught nice bigger-than-eater size walleyes. The cookie cutter dimensions and slender profile makes me think they were males. They were hitting leeches and reef runners.

Nothing but 1-2 pound northerns in the shallows.

Easy to fish moving water from curtain falls on iron.

Spawn ( walleye) has been over for weeks. That doesn't mean you will not find a milker or two. Males will likely still be in or near moving water. Females will have scattered, but be nearby- in deeper holes or in warmer shallower bays feeding on new year bait.

Curtain Falls produces all year long. Tough to fish upstream of the main spots0- but fish some of the pools that lead down from the main falls can be good. Usually only done from shore. Otherwise focus on the deep edges outside the main current downstream about 1/8/- 1/4 mile of where its really the fastest current just below the base of the main portage entrance.
