I’m going into The Alder lake area mid week next week. I’ve searched this forum for info specific to that area but most of it isn’t too recent. Wondering if anyone had and advice on fishing that area. Thanks in advance.

I've caught trout, walleye, northern and bass there. Was there last September and did well. Crystal for me is better trout fishing.

We had success (in July 2019) on Little Alder below the creek outlet (near the portage from East Bearskin). We were just day tripping and fished for about 2-3 hours there.

We caught several smallies (16-18”) and a couple nice sized walleyes for a fish fry, mostly on jigs and leeches as I recall.

We also fished just for a short time on the west end of Alder just east of the pinch point between Little Alder and Alder and had no success. Can’t say we fished that area particularly hard though, as we were mainly in exploration mode before returning on our day trip.

Good luck!

We had pretty good luck in the SE "bay".
