Hello - as the subject line says, I'm looking for advice on fishing Disappointment Lake. We'll be going in next week (6.23.21) and plan to mostly walleye fish for meals. My general strategy is to fish in roughly 10' of water in areas with sharper breaks to deeper water or in "saddles" between islands, making slight adjustments for wind. I've attached a map with areas highlighted in yellow (kind of hard to see on the scanned map) that I'm targeting.
I also identified general areas with A, B, C, D and E for location reference if anybody is willing to provide some more insight on fishing locations.
Also - at the north end of the lake there's an area that slopes from 10' to 50' that I find intriguing simply due to the depth. Any thoughts on this area?

I have never fished this lake. Looking at your map it has many interesting spots. I was up off of entry point 25 last week. We found the Walleye in 8-10 feet of water. Water temps were already 70 deg. We caught most on night crawlers and leeches with slip bobbers. If there are any shallow bays that have easy access to deeper water try there. The walleye will move into the shallows to feed on bait fish then go back to deeper water. I like those saddles you talked about. We usually can catch some fish during the day but the hot bite is from 7-10 am and 7-10 pm.

For that Lake not a alot of experience. I think your idea is sound. Agree with SV on times to fish if it stays hot. In addition if the wind is going good all I can add is any narrows between the shore and the northern 2 most islands create current. Walleyes like current. I'd try both the slack water side of the "current" and the front side. Good ambush points for walleyes and wind, although hard to control the boat, gets the walleyes to put on the food bag.

Just got back from a trip where we spent 3 days on Disappointment. Normally we find fish in 8-10 feet of water in several spots around the lake. However, they were AWOL in our traditional spots probably due to warmer temps earlier in the year. We finally did find them in 12-15 of water on flats but when we did it was game on. After a day of searching picking up a few my son and I probably boated over 40 the last 2 days including a few in the 22-25" range. Leeches and slip bobbers accounted for most but we did bump into a few casting and trolling Rapala Husky Jerks. Evenings were by far the best for us although we did catch a some in the mornings and a few midday.
