Heading to base camp on Lake Three first week of June, and looking for some advice on good fishing locations within reasonable day trip distance, species, techniques, etc. Thanks.

I have only fished lake three a couple times and never in June. Start on the maps portion of this website. I believe there are some fishing spots marked on the map to get you started. Not sure what species you are targeting but all fish should be relatively shallow (5-15 fow) and active the first week of June. Smallmouth bass should be spawning and walleye will still be shallow as well for the most part. That lake has a lot of structure. If you don't have a depth finder focus around islands and off points and other pinch points. This time a year the fish will likely still be keyed in on bug hatches so the mouth of some gradual muddy bays could be good as well. The first week of June is the best fishing time in my opinion up in the BWCA so you really can't go wrong. Not sure if you are bringing up live bait if I was in your shoes my lure list in order of use/ confidence would be:

- slip bobber and leech
-jig and leech
-ned rig
-drop shot leech
-wacky rigged worm
-neko rigged worm
-jig and other plastics or flukes (zulu rigged)
-spinners (vibrax)
-jerkbaits (trolled or casted)
-topwater
