Fishing was tougher than ever with the high, cold water. A caught a few decent ones……

That’s it, now I’m going to need some of those green tube lures. Nice fish Mike.

Nice fish Mike! And on my favorite smallmouth bait, lol. Fishing was off for us as well. Between the cotton, high water, cold water etc. it was a bit tough. Caught several 21" fish and 5 or 6 20", but the overall numbers were low and we caught VERY few males which I didn't mind. Average size was amazing. Did get in to some really nice walleye on Quetico lake, all were 24-26 inches. Headed back in about 10 days, hopefully it will be more normal. We did better this year on Ned rigged Zman TRD's and the Zman's tiny tube (can't remember what they are called) fished on 1/8 half head jigs as they are a solid headed tube. Seemed like they wanted smaller slower baits in the cold water, we usually use larger tubes. Walleyes were on 1/4 ounce half head jigs and 5" green pumpkin grubs. Walleyes were SHALLOW, like 2-6ft.

Thanks! I was forced to use it the conditions we had to deal with. I will be the first person to tell you that I'm not a jig type of person, but if I can swim them and not get snagged, I will use them. They were working on smallies keying on craws.

Excellent fish! I think I might have some extra room in my tackle box for a tube jig or two after seeing this!
