Hammertime: "Heading to gabbro for the first time this weekend.

Any tips on that lake would be greatly appreciated.

Hoping with the late start to the season topwater smallies are still going and the walleyes haven’t gone too deep yet."

Have a great time: For that area requirement - a lot of Deet and at least a headnet. Sometimes the portage from the parking lot can get brutal with mosquitoes. So much depends on humidity that day and how active they are. Be a Scout-Be prepared.

The skinnier north peninsula. Fish the windward side. Walleye.

I’ve had more success in Bald Eagle for walleyes. There are two deep holes in B.E. That I know people have caught walleyes. I’ve had more success fishing the windy side of the lake in less than 10ft of water simply casting small Rapalas.
