I was just curious if anyone has ever fished this lake and had any luck. I'm planning a trip in the spring and bringing my son for his first trip to the BWs. I noticed that this lake had good numbers of walleye in it. I'm not looking for big fish, just some eaters to keep him busy and not get bored. If anyone has other options I should keep in mind, please let me know. We will be fishing out of solo canoes so trying to keep the size of the lake a little smaller. Thank you for your help! |

Homer would be a great option for what you're wanting. Smaller water in that Vern/Juno area and good fishing and not real busy normally. Of course these are BW lakes and not what you were asking. |

If you’re camping on eighteen, you could also drive up to Isabella Lake and fish there. Lots of walleye but mostly small and easy to catch. |

Very nice lake just one moderate portage from your entry lake. Permit is #66 Crocodile River but you actually enter at the landing in the East Bearskin campground. Must stay all nights on Crocodile. A very remote feeling for being just a couple hours from your car. There are 4 campsites but it is often not real busy because it is a deadend lake, nowhere else to go. But for a short basecamp trip focused on relaxation, fishing, scenery and a feeling of solitude this is a good option. At the east end of the lake the Crocodile River gets pretty narrow and intimate and makes for a pretty cool short daytrip. Just a thought... Sunrise view from our campsite, 2nd on the lake going west to east. Very nice site. View down the Crocodile River for a fun and scenic little daytrip |
