Thanks, it's not too much of a secret where it was caught, big ones get caught there every year. It was at a local park with access to the Maquoketa River. I think the key to this location is that there is a sand quarry on the opposite side and every fall they suck sand out of the river creating a wintering hole. Unfortunately I didn't get it measured before I released it.

On the Maquoketa, the Upper Iowa, Turkey, Shell Rock, Cedar, and Wapsi are all great walleye rivers to fish from shore or by canoe.

Where in Iowa? I'm in Decorah - was just contemplating getting out on the Upper Iowa to see if the wallys are biting or not.

Huge fish!
@T Yeah, it's the same in Maine. Hard water and another 17 inches of snow in the last 24 hours on the heels of two 6" snowfalls.

Nice Walleye…weird seeing open water for me.

Any length measurement on that fish??
Rule of thumb would say about 32" for 12 pounds.
