Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum. I have focused most of my efforts on Smallmouth and Walleye but plan to target Lake trout more on occasional trips in the future. I'll give the article a read when I have some time.

Fun to read - thanks for sharing. Lake Trout are probably my favorite fish to catch in the BW.

Hello All,
This will be my first post on the forum and website! I grew up (and still live) along the North Shore, on the edge of Duluth. Fly fishing and ice fishing have been a huge part of my life, so much so, that I decided to go into the field after finishing high school. I am currently a Junior at UMD studying Environmental Sustainability applied to salmonid migrations and climate effects. This past spring, I focused my main research on lake trout in the Boundary Waters and wanted to share the article with any new ice fisherman or angler interested! I love learning about all this stuff and talking with other people, so feel free to reach out with questions or comments!
