Hi there.

I am brand new to this forum and am planning a trip the first week of August to Basswood/Fall Lake with my 11 year old twins who are pretty novice fisherman. Any advice for a 5 day trip would be great. Low maintenance is what I'm thinking. Maybe looking for SM and some panfish, a few northern would be good, but I don't want top add a lot to my workload. Trying to keep it simple and fun.

Any feedback would be great!

Thanks in advance.

I haven’t been up that time of year nor have I been in basswood. From what I’ve read, submerged humps are the ticket. Depth finder would help. Bring a basketball net to use as anchor so you can find the structure on the lake and post up on it. Leeches would probably be good under a slip bobber. Good luck and have fun.

Think slip-bobber from shore. Find a campsite within an easy cast of mid-depth water--say 8 -12 ft or so. hang a leech on a colored hook a foot or two off the bottom and you will catch bass for sure, maybe walleyes. early morning and late evening are key.
