Both are excellent smallmouth lakes. Gebe also has some nice size walleye as well. Green is a northern only lake and Rocky, while it has smallmouth, isn’t worth your time. |

egknuti: "If you’re searching for smallmouth, I’d head to Hustler or Gebe. Yeah, I'm kind of torn between Ge-be and Bolder Bay now. Still really want to hit Hustler though too.....wish it had walleye. |

We'll be targeting anything (I know lake trout are out of season), with an emphasis on small mouth and walleye. Whole group pretty much just fishes with artificials, but thinking of picking up some crawlers too. Personally, I'm not too fond of the huge open water lakes, so I've had my eye on spending some time on Hustler, Rocky, or Green lakes. That said, it seems like in the area, it's only Oyster and Ge-be that offer walleye. Also, are Rocky and Green even worth it for smallmouth? Anyway, I'm looking for ideas/recommendations mainly for fishing, but also where to camp to be close to the fishing :-) Thank you. |

Oyster is primarily a Lake Trout Lake. There are no Walleye in Oyster and the Smallmouth are limited. I personally would enter on Moose River North and Camp on Agness - from a fishing perspective, I think that'll be a much better fit for your group. You can also run up to Boulder Bay in Lac La Croix - great fishing for all species there as well. |

I've only been there 1 time for a few hours. |

technically_rugged: "I don't have any recommendations for you since this area is relatively untouched for me and I don't typically target walleye beyond opportunistic trolling, BUT, I will be in the area for the first day or two of your trip (likely around Hustler/Shell). I'll be in a black B17 with a yellow Kevlar Wenonah BW as well, so if you see us, please feel free to say hi!" I'll look for you. |
