Once on Canadian Agnes the first week of June the water was really cold, but it got hot that day. It had one heck of a Mayfly hatch over deep water. The whitefish were surfacing everywhere and were easy to catch on spinners. Wish I would have had a fly rod that day though.

Hey all, I have fished the BWCA quite a bit and worked at a lodge for a summer. This upcoming year, I am going to working at Clearwater Historic Lodge. This is a bit of a change for me. I was planning on fishing Caribou lake pretty hard this summer, and Clearwater for LT as well. My question is, is it worth it? I mostly target Walleye, Pike, Smallmouth. Open to suggestions in the area as well. Thanks!

Welcome to bwca.com!
I haven't been there in the past few years but, traditionally Caribou has been a productive lake fishing wise and is still likely your best bet in that immediate area.

We had some fun fishing on Caribou last August. Plently of 15-18" smallmouth and just enough walleyes mixed in for dinner. I wish we could have stayed another day to explore the vegetation in the east end and try to locate the whitefish in the deeper water. I'll definitely be going back to that lake in future trips.
