Still fish for Walleyes shallow, even in July. Every year I’m amazed how shallow they are even in the months of July & August.

Agree, but don't limit yourself to still fishing. I once bounced a Rapala off a rock on shore and a walleye hit it as soon as it hit the water, in only 6 inches of water at that. This was in late afternoon on a sunny day too.
Trolling a Rapala or shad rap or similar along the shoreline works on lakes that have stained water. If you catch one, note where you were and go back to catch another. My wife and I do this and often double.

I'm heading into EP26 Wood Lake the week of July 4th and I'm wondering what to expect when it comes to fishing that time of year. All my previous trips have been in May or September.
I'm assuming smallies should be hitting top water lures well and that walleyes will be deeper than earlier in the spring, but is there anything else I should prepare for?
