I used them ice fishing this year and they worked great for perch. However, the fishing was so good on lake St. Clair that I would've caught fish with a split shot.

If you hang around the bait shop in Grand Marais long enough he'll give you a few for free as you leave. We've always bought something there just never paid for a beaver flick.

Where can you buy them now that the Beaverhouse is closed?

It's my son's favorite under a slip bobber. I always have a few in the box. I like to use them when the lake has a chop. The bobber bounces on the surface, and the beaver flick dances below. I personally prefer chartreuse.

I like their float rigs. It's alot like a lindy rig. They have a about a 28" leader, with a float above the hook. The other end has a loop, with about 6 inches of tag line. We put a split shot or two on the tag line. When the split shots get hung up in the rocks. If you're unable to get loose, a slow steady pull, will remove the split shot(s) off the tag line, and you get your rig back. Love it for slow drifting the bottom. When you're drifting, the float will be about a 1-1.5' off the bottom. Depending on the speed of your drift. Again, I like the chartreuse floats with 3 little redish dots on them.

I'm pretty sure I saw on Facebook this year that Trail Center is going to be selling Beaver Flicks now.

How do you use the beaver flicks?

Are they just fancy hooks under slip bobbers?
Or do you use them like Mepps spinners?

Wow! I 14 year old thread back to life. I have had good luck with these over the years. I’m glad that tackle shop still has some life left.

'Brought a friend on his first fishing trip last year, he bought one Beaver Flick, and of our group of four seasoned fishermen, he caught the biggest Small mouth, Pike, Walleye , and the only Lake trout of the week. Beginners luck?...or Beaver Flick?
