Top of Carp, where Seed/Melon comes into it. I've seen a lot of big smallies come out of there.
Here's a few from my recent trip on Carp.
Good luck!

I take a trip with the wife and kids every other summer. Kids (girls) are will be 13 and 15 next summer. They've had 4-5 trips to the BWCA. Finding the fish is always a bonus, especially for my 13-year old. She's a hardcore outdoors woman(scored a 29" walleye and first turkey before at the age of 12).
So, to make it easier, I thought next summer I'd try to target large smallies. We fish bass quite a bit all summer, but don't catch anything big. Would love to have them hook into some 15-20" smallies.
Anybody have recommendations? Would most likely either be in mid-June or mid-August. I know most lakes have smallies, but some are much better than others. I've caught 20" smallies up there by accident, but have never targeted them specifically.
Thanks in advance.

The usual suspects: Crooked, Basswood. Sleeper: Trident(NE of Ensign), Beaverhouse(Q). ....(be quiet about Trident, small lake, for sure C&R!)
