Not EP16, but a little east of Ely Ahsub used to have brookies in it, but I hear the SMB have taken care of that.

You can catch them by jigging one ounce white hair jigs, one ounce lead head jigs with a big, white twister tail, big silver spoons, hammered silver doctor spoons and deep diving cranks.

There is a brook trout lake in the neighborhood as well. Someone posted here a few years ago that had fished it with no success.

You can check out the dnr site. They have a list of all trout lakes you can x-ref and also a map search feature that makes it pretty easy to check all the lakes on your route. Don't know how far you're going but Trygg lake is stocked with Brookies. I've never been so can't say how easy the access or how good the fishing - but it's on the list. Good luck!

There are lakers in Oyster, and Lac La Croix, but no other trout species off of entry #16.

quote Mofishin: "Are there other trout besides lakers.....first time trip to BW this may! Love trout fishing are there trout in entry point 16? Where and on what do you get them on!!" There are many lakes in the bwca with rainbow, brook, brown trout and splake. On that particular route its mainly lakers.
