catfish- every year when you return from a trip you post a bunch of pictures of quality catches and then we don't hear much from you for a year. Great pictures.

Looks like McAree and Argo for sure. Guessing Wicksteed and Darky as well.

We were there last week of May. Smallmouth were post spawn in shallow areas, we use topwater baits and Yamamoto wacky worm. Caught dozens of them, some pretty big. Troll spoons (Warden's Worry, Northern King) and shad raps for lakers. Pike on subsurface lures- Glidin Rap etc.

Those all look wonderful! Nice job. What lakes did you fish? How was the weather? How were the bugs? Was the area crowded?

Looks like the kind of trip I dream about. Can I ask what lake/lakes?

Very Nice! The picture of the pike below the falls looks like Rebecca Falls on McAree.

Looks like a well rounded fishing expedition. Any details? Water temp, depth, structure?

We take the same route from Bottke Portage into the lakes north of Crooked. Great fishing up there!

Oops- didn't sign in. Yeah we go in at Bottke (after a tow from Crane Lake) and hit the Argo- Darky-Brent chain. Isolate pockets of really great smallmouth fishing up there and the Lakers are consistent. My son is a really serious fisherman so he makes us both work at it and make it happen.
