Don't forget to find those mid lake humps and holes. You can see them on the map. They will hold the biggest fish. If you don't have a depth finder (we never do) just try to triangulate with landmarks or zigzag your way through the main basin.

Just peered over the conversational shoulder at this since I'll be on Lake Isabella in a couple weeks. Hope you don't mind me fishing your spots a bit.

Hey thank you for the response egknuti. I was wondering if you had anymore advice about fishing the lake and the river ? Sorry this is my first trip so I'm hoping to get into some fish so I'm desperate for advice!

Campsite 1917 is the best site on the lake in my opinion. Several sites were affected by the Pagami Creek Fire. This one was not. The edges of the lake are quit shallow but this site probably offers the best shore fishing opportunities. Walleye size is relatively small so if you're planning a meal you should keep what you catch. Larger walleye lurk in the river.

I'm heading to lake Isabella for the first time in the last week of August and was wondering if anyone had any tips for Walleyes and the best campsites for off shore fishing?

quote Severin8: "I'm heading to lake Isabella for the first time in the last week of August and was wondering if anyone had any tips for Walleyes and the best campsites for off shore fishing? " I've marked the map as to where I've caught fish, obviously there are many more. I mostly troll and cast with Rapalas to catch my fish.
