Folks, you have a newbie here, other than Craigslist, eBay, etc... Is there a go-to website for quality used gear that I don't know about? Thanks in advance!

Also, just wanna say thanks to all you members who take time to respond to questions I'm sure you've answered before. It helps guys like me tremendously. I've learned a ton already as far as what to packs and such.. Thx!

REI now has a used gear portion of their website. Patagonia does too, but so far it caters more to used clothing.

Not a website but many on this site have mentioned places like Goodwill/Salvation Army as being good places to get bargains on used stuff - mostly clothing but occasional great gear finds too.

And if Duluth is closer, this new endeavor looks very promising. https://duluthfolkschool.com/events/great-lakes-gear-exchange-gear-swap/

If you ever make it to Minneapolis, http://www.repairlair.com Usually has a bit of boating related stuff, and tons of camping gear.

Also, check Amazon's warehouse deals. If you are looking at a specific item on the Amazon site, on the left you can select new, used, refubished, if available.

Welcome to the forum. Also consider buying used gear from outfitters. Piragis turns their gear over every year and so is often in great condition. Others, such as Voyageur North, may use it a bit longer, but are still selling excellent stuff and probably for less money. Both places are very upstanding and will give you accurate info on what they have available.

I have two canoes from Voyageur North and a few items from Piragis. I’m sure there are other similar outfitters, but I just can’t provide personal experience. Actually, I also have a paddle or two from Spirit of the Wilderness. Good folks, too.

There is an 'Items for sale' group on this site which can be a great resource. You can also post if you are looking for something and have a chance that someone will part with something used.

Scroll down to the bottom of the message board to "View Other Public Special Interet Groups and Private Groups Open for Application " and join the 'Items for sale'

I have bought and sold from other forums, such as backpackinglight.com, whiteblaze.net and hammockforums.net
