I had that happen and used a fat hose clamp tightened it all the way down and wrapped it with black electrical tape so it wouldn't wear a hole in the tent fabric. Lasted until the zipper wore out.

I found this huge tent in a pile of sports gear left out with a free take it sign.
now doing plan B this would work great for car camping.
the tent seems to be in like new shape with just a bit of dirt on a couple
of the stakes.problem is that one of the poles must of been bent and pulled
back to shape leaving a crink at the bend.
I have welding equipment as you see from the tank in the background of the
photo.using it would be a major hassle of getting hose's and such out of deep
storage in the garage.a dab of brazing would do the job in a minute but are there
any other ways to secure that pole from bending and maybe breaking off?
I have thought of wrapping that spot in heavy wire or plugging on end and
pouring lead down to stop a further bend.
finding a local guy to make a weld seems unlikely as it's a small, really small job.

Temporary fix, possibly permanent, but i suppose a tent pole repair splice found at Rei or any outdoor store, sized appropriately would accomplish what your looking for. Being Ocd, i would probably buy another pole, I know its not free anymore...

I was excited to see the link and thought I could get a similar part for my North Face tent but North Face is not one of the listed parts brands.

Originally I just looked at the pole piece. Went back to your photo and read what I could of the instructions, and an ah-haaa moment ensued.
I keep links to several part sources for gear. Could have stolen the parts from my son-in law and cut you a deal! Get some more good use from it!

thanks for the coleman tent link.looks like that should work better than a
home made fix.

Slather with JD Weld? Strip of fiberglass slathered with JD Weld? Glob of plumbers epoxy?

Depending on diameter various curve sections could make a repair. Quest Outfitters offers bends in different diameters and angles.
Looks rusty so maybe a gas weld would fix it otherwise.

try tent pole technologies 18002669527 for your north face.

what I ended up doing was blocking the pipe/pole with lots of wet cloth bits about four inches past the bend.i jammed the cloth in with a coat hanger wire.
then pouring a thin mix of anchoring cement until it came to the end
of the tube.it settled down in the tube a bit after the slurry filled to the top.
I let it set overnight and today it was so solid that I could not bend the pipe
at the crink.i put more force on it than the pole would carry on a set up tent.
i'll try a set up in the yard before I camp in may.the pole fits into a sleeve so I could not put anything around the outside keeping the pole from fitting in.
when I gave brazing a try with a propane torch the heat melted the thin edges
of the open crick red hot and sealed most of the break.with that torch I could not
get enough heat to make brazing work and went to plan B,the cement filler.

I'm with bannock on the JB weld. (It is JB not JD) Pretty amazing stuff and not too heavy.
