mjmkjun	04/15/2019 04:49AM   I think you should up your budget to $300 for two sleep bags. It'll give you an edge/ budget for decent quality bags rated 20*. Catch the sales or clearances to get down bags in your budget. Yep, on the Big Agnes brand, you have to pair sleep bag's bottom envelope & air mat dimensions. Factor-in that men's and women's sleep bags are designed differently and may not zip together. Likely, you'll end up buying 2 men's bags of same size to have the versatility of zipping together.

Savage Voyageur	04/15/2019 08:48AM   The last bags I bought that zipped together was the Cats Meow by North Face. They were synthetic filled. They have a left and right side zipper. They also were different sizes, so that should answer part of your questions. Look into the bags at REI. The one I bought was duck down, not goose down. It has held up nicely at an affordable price. They are cut wider than a mummy bag and kind of roomy. As far as the $250 price point you might get close with a sale price with your dividend. I’m not sure if these can be attached together, but they will get you close to your price.

Brow pole makes the head area very spacious. Cheap, so you can recover from the money you spent on the sleeping bags and mattresses. Reasonable 6 lbs 5 oz. Holds up well in the rain. Sunny Sports are surprisingly good people to deal with, despite their Manhattan location.
tashit	04/15/2019 12:57PM   My wife and I have Nemo down bags that zip together. They are both the 'spoon' shape as they call them. I personally can't stand mummy bags so these are great for us. We have a Disco and a Rhapsody. I found hers on Sierra Trading Post a few years ago for around $150 and I don't think mine was over $200. My wife found that one on sale somewhere as well.

Check out the Hyke and Byke brand on Amazon, in the $115-200 range and have really good reviews (I do not have one, just know from my own research). I bought an Aegis Max UL bag, and I love it. I'm making a fleece liner to give me another 10-15 degrees but it is less than 2 lbs and smaller than a nalgene bottle for less than $80! Hyke and Byke Amazon.com Aegis Max UL

Although not ultra light, about 2 1/2 lbs is reasonable for all that room and ability to roll around. Definitely comfy in to the low 30's. They are often on sale. we got one for 20% off and the other 30% off. I've tried many bags over the years, some very expensive, but will never as long as I live sleep in another mummy! These can be zipped together to form a large rectangular bag.
LilyPond	04/15/2019 08:41AM   Woops, I didn't see that you want to pay $250 for TWO bags, hence $125 each. In that case take a look at the Kelty Galactic 30. Check the reviews carefully regarding the accuracy of the temperature rating if you plan to use it in the spring and fall. Some say it's way off, others disagree. You can also add a silk liner for more warmth. I prefer a reliably rated 20F bag for spring and fall.
analyzer	04/14/2019 04:21PM   So, now the wife and I are in the market for a down sleeping bag. Probably something in the 20 degree range, and not over $200. I'd prefer to spend less than $250.00 for 2 of them. So Nette is 5'1" and I'm 6'1". The big fat old heavy bags we have now, we like to zip together and make one....well, at least we used to, the zippers have been broke for a number of years, so we just use them as under/over quilts. If you like to zip bags together, can you do that with 2 different size bags? I suppose I have to buy two bags that will fit me, huh? I don't see how you can zip them together if they are mummy types, or even semi-rectangular. Maybe I should give up on that idea. I don't like the confinement of mummy type bags. I flip around too much in my sleep, and side sleep alot. A semi rectangular would probably be better. I've looked at some old threads, but some of those sleeping bags seem to have been discontinued. I don't think they make a kelty Coromell any more.
schweady	04/14/2019 04:41PM   Mummy bags can be zipped together if they are models that are meant to do so, no matter the individual length; the zippers don't extend all the way down to the end of the foot box. We have the North Face Cat's Meow. You would just need models with the same sized teeth on the zipper, and one 'left' and one 'right.' One could be a longer zipper that just doesn't close completely at the top. It's a much roomier sleep with a lot less twisting with the added space when zipped together.
Jaywalker	04/14/2019 04:50PM   If either of you can sew or know someone who can, consider making a down double quilt. There are many very good YouTube vids, and top quality materials easily available. Cost would be probably between $100-150, and it would weigh very little (like under 2 lbs) and pack down very well.

I never heard of this company before. Spent some time looking around their website and this looks like a great company with very affordable down sleeping bags. Really too bad they don't make a rectangular bag! They say their hammock bags are cut 4" wider, so maybe that would satisfy some people looking for a wider bag.

I'm not sure what a spoon bag is, I guess I'll have to figure that out.

Starts to get expensive. Canoe $3,400. Tarp $90 Pads $350 Stove $105 Sleeping bags $350 Paddling WCPP.... priceless... Well not really, lol. Might have to wait on the chairs...
