Not a fan of aerosol sprays especial those containing petroleum products for technical gear treatment. Just too much investment in good gear to take chances. Rather choose a water soluble mix out of a pump spray bottle. My personal experience with Snow Seal drove me away form any of their products. butthead |

BA tents currently use a silicon treated nylon with a specifically formulated urethane coating to enable the seam tape to stick (a description I got from BA tech service personnel). I would not use anything on one or any processes not recommended by BA. BA tent care butthead |

Yeah, I know it sounds "salesy" but I'm a mobile detailer, and the specific details of what a product can and can't do for me are important to me and my clients, so I know the product too well not to sound salesy when describing it. |

butthead: "Is the BA tent leaking? Did you contact BA about it? It is not leaking, but not shedding water. Here is BA response yesterday. "Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry to hear your tent is taking on water. We recommend Nikwax because we've tested it and we know it doesn't have any negative effects on the existing waterproof coatings. My personal favorite re-waterproofing treatment is Gear Aid Revivex DWR, however others can do just as well. Just make sure the treatment you use is designed for nylon, it looks like Sno-Seal is for leather unless my quick googling turned up the wrong type, Kiwi Camp Dry appears to be ok." |
