My dad has decided to come, after I bought the 3 person tent. I will now be deciding on a 4 person tent or use the 3 person and get a 1 person to bring also.

awbrown	12/09/2019 05:04PM   If a tent has a waterproof roof, then there is no need for a tent fly. It also makes for a very humid tent, with lack of ventilation.

butthead	12/09/2019 09:13PM   Ijust have to bring up my Big Sky Chinook. It hes either available, mesh or solid fabric interior options. Here it is with the solid interior. It uses an external frame and has 2 interior zipped mesh vents. I also have a mesh interior for warm weather use, but have used the solid interior in the summer with the various venting options. Available in solo, solo+, and 2 person sizes. butthead

I broke down today and bought Kelty Gunnison 3 Tent with Footprint The price was to good to pass up ( $136) and if it dosent work well I am not out very much. all of the tents I have used in the past the rainfly eventually leaked during rain storms that lasted a day or more. The solid canopy provided a second chance at stopping water. I hope this works, if not I may have to move to a 4 season tent, but am concerned with it being to hot. Thanks again for the input.

kbad	12/09/2019 10:02PM   The 4 season I was looking at was the BG copper river hl 3 expedition. To me it looks like it would vent very well with doors on each end you could open to get a draft through the tent. The ones I can find are a bit more $$. May still pull the trigger on one.

TominMpls	12/16/2019 12:50PM   I use Hilleberg tents. All their tent ranges meet the requirement you describe, including their lightweight yellow label tents. They *are* warmer in the summer than the mesh tents that dominate the US market. They're also very pricey.
