I have a Mohawk Odyssey and a Mohawk solo 13 (which I'll be selling come spring). Both have a roll up yoke strap with a big clip on the end. Last summer I picked up a Swift Osprey (courtesy of PuffinGin) and put together a proper removable yoke (thanks Dave at Hemlock Canoe).

I was thinking for shorter portages it would be nice to have a quick and stowable yoke like the ones on my Mohawks. Does anyone sell such a thing, or would a person have to just make one? Any help would be appreciated.

Ha. I see mohawk does sell them. Problem solved (although the aluminum gunwales on my solo might not work).

Of all the boat builders and such I met traveling coast to coast hauling canoes Dave Curtis is hands down the nicest and most talented boat builders. I’d even bet he’d work with you on something like that. But he’d have to be careful about patented items. Are you out his way?

If you’re going to sell the odyssey, and are in the area of the western Great Lakes, please let me know.
