My car camping tent has a major design flaw where the rain fly does not cover the window completely and screen cover is on the inside. Water pools at the bottom where the flap is stitched to the tent wall and seeps in. My thought here is to make covers for the outside of the window with nylon and velcro but I'm having issues finding tent nylon. Any sources?

At one point I had heard there was a difference between nylon that was coated after ( less expensive and less effective) and nylon that was coated before weaving. I bought and made tarps from silcon nylon that was supposedly the better quality. It was a major pain to sew (use a walking foot), but has lasted.

They are, but an interesting sidenote is that one is currently suing the other!

Seattle Fabrics. I think we have a winner! My daughter lives less than 5 miles from their retail store and I'll be visiting her in May.
Thanks gang! As always, such a wealth of knowledge on this board.

+2 I've ordered materials for making a huge tarp, many top and under quilts, stuff sacks, etc. Great variety of fabric, rolled goods, plastic components...

I'll throw in DIY Gear Supply as well. They don't have as much, but in my experience they tend to have pretty good prices.
Also Seattle Fabrics has a really good selection, but they're a bit more spendy and rockywoods appears to be good as well though I haven't ordered from them personally.
