Are you looking for solo or tandem canoes?

T-Formex Prospectors from Wenonah or Esquif would be a great choice, especially if they are occasionally portaged. Old Town Discovery 169s would also work, though they are made of polyethylene and heavier than the T-Formex models. Just out of curiosity, which river are you planning to rent these for?

Nova Craft Prospectors. If just for day trips 15 or 16 foot. If for tripping 16 or 17 foot. Incredibly stable, easy to paddle, very forgiving, comfortable. They offer a lower price option that is highly durable.

The Esquif Prospectuers would also likely work well - but no personal experience. These are in T-Formex.

Wenonah Prospector 15 and 16, Spirit 2, and other appropriate models are offered in T-formex.

Are you looking to buy, rent, or start a river canoe service?

I would look at canoes made if T-Formex. Several manufacturers use it. Some in your price target.

Hi Everyone,

Looking to buy several canoes to rent out through my vacation rental on a stretch of river that has several class I-II areas. The river is smaller with lots of twists and turns, rocks, and narrow areas.

All the swift water areas have the ability to portage around based on how comfortable one would be with navigating moving water, so they would need the ability to be portaged several hundred yards in some cases.

I would be looking for something that is extremely durable, manageable for portaging, ability to have enough gear for a night or two of camping, and priced around $1000-$1500 if possible since I will need several.

I currently have a 15.6' Bell Yellowstone in Royalex and its perfect for this application. Would love to purchase a fleet of Northstar B16's in IPX, but that is just too expensive for me.

Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks!
