The Esquif Prospectuers would also likely work well - but no personal experience. These are in T-Formex. Wenonah Prospector 15 and 16, Spirit 2, and other appropriate models are offered in T-formex. |

Looking to buy several canoes to rent out through my vacation rental on a stretch of river that has several class I-II areas. The river is smaller with lots of twists and turns, rocks, and narrow areas. All the swift water areas have the ability to portage around based on how comfortable one would be with navigating moving water, so they would need the ability to be portaged several hundred yards in some cases. I would be looking for something that is extremely durable, manageable for portaging, ability to have enough gear for a night or two of camping, and priced around $1000-$1500 if possible since I will need several. I currently have a 15.6' Bell Yellowstone in Royalex and its perfect for this application. Would love to purchase a fleet of Northstar B16's in IPX, but that is just too expensive for me. Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated! Thanks! |
