Nemo Fillo Luxury Pillow on sale at Moutain Steals for $34. I’ve owned one since 2017 and it’s my favorite pillow no matter where I’m sleeping. And I’m a side sleeper.

I ended my pillow problems the year I went into the bedroom and pulled my pillow and placed it into a plastic bag for use on the trip and every year after. Yes it takes up space and may be bulky for some, but I use a cot and consider the pillow worth it as I get good sleep and the fact that I spend around 30% of my trip using it.

I have a sea to summit aero- a lot of puff in a small package- still it is a rectangular (lets say pillow shaped) balloon with padding. I have the Nemo Fillo also. It is more like a pillow but the aero is larger (I think I have the mid sized Nemo) and lighter and packs smaller. If you get the air right on the aero its nice. I use the Aero more than the Nemo but would probably use the Big Nemo more than either and just carry the weight.

After trying numerous camping pillows, 4 years ago I started using a zippered flannel pillow case for my clothes bag AND pillow. I can adjust the thickness of my pillow by adding a jacket or removing a few pieces of clothing. It works perfect for me.

My wife uses a NEMO Fillo inflatable and she likes it. (I would too I think) I just use my clothes in dry bag but might include a pillow case or something softer/nicer to put the clothes in.

We’ve been very happy with our NEMO Fillows that we purchased back in 2014. Back then they had shock cord on the back do you can stuff clothes into it (for added height) and keep it there while shifting through the night. It looks like the only model with that is the Luxury. I’m heavily a side sleeper, and while I’ve thought of adding height I’ve never actually used that feature. What attracted me to it was the memory foam layer on top. I’ve never woken up with a sore ear because of that.
I’ve always been curious about the S2S pillows, but I’ve never played with one.

A few years back we got a Fillo Elite and an Aeros Premium (small size). It's hard to say which was better - they each have advantages and disadvantages. But the Aeros developed a leak around the valve, and while it was leaking we replaced it with another Fillo Elite. That's all we've used since. I do have to note that Sea to Summit was *amazing* with their warranty support - they asked me to send a video of the damaged pillow, and once they received it they sent me a new one at no cost and asked me simply to upcycle the old one in whatever way I could think of. We probably just got a faulty one, and their support really impressed me (unlike Nemo, which I've griped about in a Bugout thread), but nevertheless we're using Nemo pillows now.

I really like the Trekology pillows. I have the Aluft 1.0 for 5 years and it has virtually no wear on it, packs down small and light, good support and can micro adjust to your liking. Biggest plus is at $15 you cant go wrong. I bought a second one this year when they were having it on sale for $1, yes $1!

I'm a side sleeper and I'm looking for a good pillow option that keeps my head horizontal. Anyone have any experience with the Sea to Summit Aeros Premium Pillow? They look like they'd do the job, but they're pretty pricey. Yikes. Any other good options out there?

My pillow isn't inflatable, but it really gives good support for a side sleeper. I start with this:
Memory foam pillow from Walmart
I cut it to the size I want and then put it in the compression stuff sack with my sleeping bag. In the compression sack you don't notice the extra bulk.

Same idea, slightly different execution...
For approximately 20 years, I’ve been using a flannel “pillowcase” stuffed with clothing. The “clothing” consists of a stuffable down jacket (un-stuffed) and a larger micro fiber towel (unless wet, then I replace with other soft clothing). These items are placed into a flannel “envelope” measuring roughly 10” X 20” with an overlapping flap across the middle. The flap eliminates the need for a zipper, so regardless of where you place your head, it is on something soft.
I prefer that my clothing be in something more waterproof than flannel, so they go in my snozzle bag.

Yep, I am in the same boat. I got a flannel pillow sack about 10 years ago and I do the same thing with stuffing my clothes to form the pillow. Comes in really handy while winter camping because if I need to add another layer my clothes are easily accessible.

I had used inflatable pillows for years and I never could get them to suit my side sleeping style. They would either be too hard or too soft. By chance I came across the Alps Mountaineering Camp Pillow. It's foam filled and 10" x 20" and seems to meet my needs.
It compresses into its own bag and that it maybe 8" x 10".
I see that they make a larger pillow that is 16" x 24"

LOVE my Nemo Fillo .
I use it in my hammock barely inflated, but it would be just as great more fully inflated in a tent as a side sleeper.

I have been doing this for years...using a flanel stuff sack that I think I bought from REI.

I'm a member of team Nemo, have had mine for 6 or so years now. At one point my pillow developed a slow leak, so I sent it off to them and they swapped out the bladder and shipped it back to me the same week.

Klymit Luxe Pillow here. I'm a side sleeper as well and this is the only one I could find that works for me. Packs to the about the size of a coke can. Customer service with this company is excellent as well. After a couple of seasons my daughters Luxe pillow developed a real slow leak so I gave the company a call about how best to make a repair, surprisingly they said not to worry about fixing it and sent a new pillow having me just keep the old one. I use a Fillo Deluxe every night whether I’m camping or at home. I have used it for a couple years now and have experienced no issues whatsoever. I’m a side sleeper and I would recommend the Fillo to anyone.

It is pretty obvious that comfort is a very individual thing. I put my clothes in my sleeping bag stuff sack and put the stuff sack on the tent floor just above my sleeping pad. My head rests on the hood of the sleeping bag which is on the stuff sack. That might not be comfy for some but it works for me.

After 40 trips or so with folded up clothing to rest our heads, we finally gave each other Nemo Fillo Elite pillows for gifts a few years back. Very much worth it. Comfortable with all sleeping positions. The main knock on online reviews is what's perceived as a fragile air bladder, but we've spent a dozen or so nights so far without any thought of that as a concern.

I own several. They are great for back sleepers, but don't have the height for side sleeping. You can still use it, but will likely need to add a fleece shirt, etc. underneath it to get the right support.
