I'm pretty sure I remember seeing two hammocks in one shelter in one of their videos, not sure if it is the Nube or the other one, but this looks absolutely killer, and it sounds like a fantastic company: Where's the two-person hammock at either of those links? I just see gussied-up gathered-end hammocks. Are you thinking the gear sling under the hammock is for a person? That would be a bad idea as it is likely not capable of supporting the weight of a person--nevermind that they look far too small for a person to lay in. |

There are so many options from great makers like Warbonnet, Dutchware, Simply Light Designs, Dream Hammock... I personally use a Simply Light Designs Streamliner with 360 bugnet, Warbonnet Minifly, and Dutchware spider straps with beetle buckles. My insulation is currently a Simply Light Designs Trailwinder underquilt, and an old mummy bag unzipped all the way as a top quilt (plan to replace with a down topquilt someday). |

butthead: "fadersup: "Dutchware Double Dutch. Butthead...I got my Dutchware Chameleon 2 weeks ago (double layer, 1.0 hex inside and 1.6 hex outside with a symmetrical bugnet and beetle buckle suspension) and I ABSOLUTELY love it. Crazy comfortable, lightning fast setup. You're in for a treat when you finally pull the trigger. Enjoy! |

I use my hammock for day lounging and sleep in a tent. Total cost of the above: About $275. You might need two sets of straps. Notice that if you save on the hammock and straps you can invest more in the mattress. As a non-hammocker I have to say that a hammock + Exped mattress is incredibly comfortable. I tried a single hammock first and couldn't get it to work. The double hammock is much more comfortable for one person. As a beginner I had to learn to get the right angle on the straps and place the mattress diagonally. |

You can hang two hammocks with a common tree at one end and get pretty close. You might want to look at the special interest group BWCA Hanging for some ideas. |

A Simply Light Designs gear sling under my current setup (described above) would make my current setup practically identical to that except for the highly unnecessary and odd bugnet tie-outs and attachment to the tarp. |

I kinda like the idea that I could have my youngest in there with me...she's a little nervous this summer, as it's her first time in a hammock solo. We've all got Hennessy Hammocks, love them. Ditching the tent for our family of five this summer. |

They had a series of videos that I watched when I first looked at it. I'm not going to spend time looking through all their videos again, but in one of the videos it talked about and showed two hammocks suspended inside of the single system. Struck me as an interesting option. |

loneranger: "I am taking the wife to the BWCA and she wants to hammock instead of tent camp so I need to know what is the best two person hammock. Not to concerned about pricing, just want something simple to setup and reliable. Thanks" Dutchware Gear, referenced earlier, recently acquired Clark hammocks. I have never used one but, they have a reputation of being extremely well made but, nearly too heavy to carry. Clark 2-person hammocks at Dutchware Gear Please report your impressions of the product if you go this route. Good Luck |

With all that said, the Clark appeared to be well made, but was heavy. I'm pretty sure it weighed more than twice my set up. I love hammock camping, waking up without a sore back, and not having to crawl into or out of the tent, so I am all for hammocks! Edit to add: Just looked up the weight on a Clark VX Ultra...5.8 pounds. That is without underquilt or tarp. here is a video review that basically says exactly my thoughts when i tried to help a friend with it. And this guy likes it. review of Clark double hammock |
