Saw your post, and since it's only a couple of miles from me, I went down there. Lots of clothing, not much in the way of any (IMO) useful gear. Of course, it all says "Filsons" on it. Better off going to Target.

Has anyone been down to the Eagan Filson Outlet?

Worth the trip?

I thought this would be a good place to shop. I’ve bought a few products over the years, outstanding stuff. Prices are too high for me though. First thing I looked at was knives. $125-$130 for a Buck folding knife that is similar to the one that Buck sells for $45-55 anywhere else. I wish them luck, good location for the store.

Bearpath9 and Savage Voyageur,

I've never been to the Filson Outlet. In fact did not even know they had one in Eagan. Are the clothing prices marked down at,all or is it just another place to buy Filson stuff? I agree their clothing is incredibly spendy, but I have to say that I have found their Tin Pants wear better than anything else I have ever used. Would sure like to find a place to buy them at a reasonable discount though.

I agree those pants are great. I have not been there yet. I probably will do take a look before Christmas.

It's a pretty small store. Didn't look at the prices, really, just sort of wandered in to see what they had. I didn't really know what to expect after I went to their website real quick. So, sorry for the lack of information.

Not worth it. I go in there once or twice each year and have yet to buy anything.

Ahhhh Filson. They used to not be overpriced. Back about 10 years ago their stuff was good quality and affordable. Now they have two divisions, one that makes stuff over seas and one that makes stuff in Washington. They slap everything from Washington with "Made in USA" and almost double the price. And I get it, American workers are more expensive then overseas. But honestly, the quality isn't that much better. If it was, I could justify paying extra. They capitalized on the lumberjack look from years ago and haven't really brought their prices down at all.

Sorry for the rant, it's just they used to be an affordable company and now they are "exclusive."

You could say the same for Duluth Pack. They are both quality and expensive. But I would rather have a Filson jacket then a $400 canvas briefcase.

Well, they did have a flask for medicinal purposes.
