I use an insulated Nalgene sleeve on my 32oz bottle with a Humangear wide to narrow mouth adapter.

The insulated sleeve seems to keep my water cool during the warmer weather.

Luft, which one do you use?

Does anybody use the koozie/sleeve on their nalgene bottles? I've seen options for a 32 ounce, any for 48 ounce? I'd imagine they work for keeping the liquid somewhat cooler and absorb condensation, but do they insulate much to keep ice longer? Any recommendation on brand or type?

Jaywalker: "I made one for my 32 oz nalgene. It’s made of a 1/4 inch (I think) blue closed cell foam pad and duct tap. I made and use mine for keeping my water from freezing during winter camping trips and it works very well. Don’t know why keeping cold in vs out would not work.

"

I should have patented this. Also used for winter camping.

Outdoor Products at one time made in my opinion a near perfect insulated water bottle holder. It's not available anymore and I wish I had more than one. It seems like for most companies near perfection in a product is a state that will be unrecognized and passed through in pursuit of change for the sake of change.

There are a few similar ones that can be found with some searching, but none that I am aware of have the reflective material on the inside.

Edit: I just posted my homemade water bottle insulator in the winter camping forum.

Try a Crowler Koozie, is just one example and other sizes can be sourced.
Another unlikely source could be Neoprene lens covers from a camera shop Snoot Boot

I was lucky to snatch up a very limited run of *wool lined* canvas 48 oz. nalgene carriers from Kevin at Empire Canvas.

I ordered a Nalgene 32 oz bottle sleeve and a Nalgene Cool Stuff Neoprene. We'll see how they work.

I have two of these, and agree that they are very nice.

I've very happy with the Nalgene bottle sleeves like this.
However when I bought them they were two for $20.

They eliminate the condensation issue, don't absorb much weight when wet and seem to keep drinks cooler/warmer longer without the weight of an insulated bottle.

For my MN winter trips below 10-20* I use an insulated bottle and an Outdoor Research water bottle parka.

Camelbak has their Hunt Bottle Pouches on sale from $29 to $9.99. Fully Insulated, zippered closure and molle webbing for attaching to packs.

Amazon has a Camelbak Max Gear Bottle Pouch on sale @ $13.99

The bottle pouch will hold a 32 oz. Nalgene wide mouth perfectly. The diameter fits a Nalgene wide mouth so it will easily slide in and out. The length of the holder is a about 1.5 inches longer than a 32 oz. Nalgene bottle. Very well made bottle holder.

I am planning to install this Camelback Bottle holder under my canoe seat to keep from having my water bottle roll around in the bottom of my canoe floor while paddling and fishing.

I am thinking of removing the two 8 inch straps that came with the Camelback Bottle holder and go with some Strapworks Plastic Cam Buckles with longer 1 inch lightweight polypropylene straps and wrap the straps around the molle webbing and around my canoe seat.

If anyone has a better idea on how to secure a Camelbak bottle holder under a canoe seat, please chime in.

I've had these by O.R. for 15+ years. Used mainly for winter trips and mountaineering. Great to throw a hot water bottle in the bottom of your sleeping bag at night. Warm drink, warm toes. https://www.outdoorresearch.com/us/sg-water-bottle-parka-1-liter-usa-256497

I've always wanted these though, more compact and probably work just as well or better. https://40below.com/product-category/bottle-covers/

I do something similar but using reflectix and then wrap it in duct tape. I do this size and also put it around big water bottles that we fill 1/2-3/4 then freeze when we car camp. It makes a definite difference in how long the ice lasts.

I make nice leather ones. I’m not sure they do anything but they look classy and ward off some of my boredom.
