joewildlife: "I have and recommend the quad pocket pack. Yes those pockets are great for Nalgene bottles or fuel. side effect is that when used, they also keep the pack from rolling around in he bottom of the canoe. The top pocket is excellent for carrying our rain gear, too! Love the CCS gear. Joe "
+1 and how we typically use those side and top pockets as well.
If you use a barrel the CCS Quad Packs are great.

The only difference is color and side pockets or not.

I was looking at Cooke Custom Sewing Barrel packs. I think Mr. Cooke sells a quad pack with side pockets, and a more streamline pack that doesn't have side pockets. Does anyone know if that is the only difference in the packs, or are they more different than just the exterior side pockets? Thank you Dan

I have the one with the quad pockets and they are extremely convenient for water bottles, fuel bottles/canisters, utensils, first aid kit, and etc.
