Clever. And so simple. Love my Trangias. Thanks for sharing.

What a great idea! I absolutely LOVE my Trangia sets. I took my complete 27 series for my week trip this year and was genuinely surprised how fuel efficient it was. I had two hot meals a day and many kettles for tea throughout the week and didn’t even come close to using a liter of alcohol.

I’ve even been playing around with baking and roasting in it. I roasted a game hen using the 2.5 lts billy pot.

I love the silence of the stove.
We bake with ours using a small, Alpine Banks Fry Bake on top of the Trangia and a twiggy fire on top of the Fry Bake.
We use the simmer ring halfway closed.

Here is a potential alternative retainer strap for anyone who uses a Trangia 25 or 27 alcohol stove
The stove system pictured is the smaller Trangia 27 stove in its packed configuration.
This replaces the webbing and metal buckle strap that holds the stove pieces together.

Materials:
1/8” shock cord
2-YKK LN-Z key keeper snap hooks or plastic mitten hooks

Remove the inner swivel ball and loop
Remover the retainer catch with a side cutter
File the rough edge of the cut so that it is smooth
Thread the two hooks to the cord
Knot the cord ends or install a plastic cord end.

This seems to be just as secure and as light as the original strap.
It is definitely quicker to secure and to unstrap.

 Thanks

Nice!

Cool DIY strap.

I have a trangia set but I don't pack it in. It is a very well designed system.

Thanks
We love ours for the two of us.
No pumping, no priming, very good in the wind and great simmer control.

I’ve been canoeing the bwca fifty some years. I have no idea what you are talking about.

Sorry.
I edited the post so that, hopefully, it is more clear what I am writing about.

The Swedish manufacturer calls it a storm cooker.

The system includes a windscreen, nesting pots and a skillet/lid/plate.

It is based around the trangia alcohol burner that has no moving parts. It has a lot of attention to detail.

Starting with the burner. The burner includes a simmer ring and a lid with gasket so that fuel can be stored in the unit.

The system packs up nicely and comes with a webbing strap to hold it all together.

The cookware is made of different materials from aluminum, to teflon coated to dual layer aluminum/stainless called Duosal.

My kit is in Duosal. It is a bit heavy. I found that I did not use it for the kind of cooking I do the one time I packed it in.

One attractive point is that the stove burns silently. So if you want solitude, you can boil water on a stove without the noise.
