I store mine rolled up, in the house, valve open.

With a self inflating pad, kept over winter in a freezing garage (only option), how are you all storing that? Open valve? Closed valve? A little inflated? Rolled up? Thanks!

I store my sleeping pads under a bed in our house with the valve open and deflated. It’s out of the way and is not compressing the pad.

I always just stored it rolled up with valve closed...in the unheated garage. It has lasted for 20+ years. I recently upgraded to a lighter, less bulky pad, but we still use this one for our friends that need to borrow gear. Works fine.

Stored with the valve open. I would try to store it some place inside if I were you as the garage is a harsh place to store anything.

I store mine unrolled with the valve open. (Therefore it is self inflated.) That is the way the manufacturer (Thermarest) suggested. I do not know if freezing temperatures are a problem. Under a bed is an indoors place that might be possible even if you are tight on space.

I store my Big Agnes Hinman the way BA recommends. Unrolled, open valves. It usually lives on or under our guest bed.
