The problem is cutting anything with any thickness you will quickly bottom out half the saw and the stroke gets very small. The "axe head" is also not the greatest. The stake puller works well if you have the right stakes. The hammer works the same as any hatchet. Basically why I keep it in the truck. I use a Bob Dustrude 30" saw and the smallets wilderness Gransfors hatchet on my backcountry trips. |

gotwins: "I haven't, but it looks like a Jack of all trades, master of none type product to me. I think a Sven Saw and a nice Gransfors hatchet or forest axe would be a better choice." +1 If I didn’t already own a Sven saw I might get a Agawa Boreal saw or a Silky saw but my Sven saw works well and has a lot of service life in it. Love my Gransfors Wild Life Hatchet and Small Forest Axe. I completely agree with the implied get the best tool for the task, take care of the tool, and it will take care of you. |

I'm a fan of the Estwing 24A hatchet. Steel shank all the way down the handle, comfortable, good looking and not that heavy. Completely bb proof. Also, less than $40. And made in USA. |
